Association of the caprine calpastatin MspI polymorphism with growth and reproduction traits in Saanen goats

چکیده
This study was designed to evaluate the effects of calpastatin (CAST) MspI polymorphism on some growth and reproduction traits, including birth weight, first breeding litter size, average daily weight gain in Saanen goats. In this sense, blood samples obtained from 73 purebred female goats were used for genotyping. Genomic DNA isolated by phenol-chloroform method determine CAST genotypes, MM, MN, NN, means PCR-RFLP method. The population genetic parameters estimated based allelic distribution data statistically analysed using analysis variance (ANOVA) a general linear model (GLM). Results revealed that N allele frequency remarkably high (0.64) MM genotype not present. heterozygous 59.62%. Concerning ANOVA results, significant differences found between genotypes locus concerning (P<0.05). respect, animals with NN associated higher (2.85±0.29 kg) compared (2.53±0.24 kg). There no association marker any remaining phenotypic traits evaluated. present results suggest focusing genomic region may be particularly useful improving which can considered as an early indicator post-weaning animal survival.

Prophet of POU1F1 (PROP1) plays direct or indirect important roles in the morphogenesis of pituitary gonadotropes as well as lactotropes, somatotropes and caudomedial thyrotropes. It also controls the expression of growth hormone, prolactin and thyrotropin subunits through regulatory PIT1 factor. These hormones have important influences on production traits in most animal species including the ...

Growth hormone (GH) has an effect on a broad variety of physiological parameters such as lactation, reproduction, growth and metabolism. Thus, the aim of this study was to detect GH gene polymorphism and its association with breeding values of production and reproduction traits in Raini Cashmere goat. Breeding values were estimated using records on 26731 Raini Cashmere goats. To study GH gene p...

Bovine lactoferrin (LTF) is a member of the transferrin family of iron-binding proteins. This protein is present in a wide variety of biological fluids and shows important physiological functions in body. In this study, 404 blood samples were collected from Holstein dairy farms in Iran. A 301 bp fragment of intron 6 in bovine LTF gene was amplified and the animals were genotyped using polymeras...
متن کاملPolymorphism of the caprine malic enzyme 1 ( ME1) gene and its association with milk quality traits in Murciano-Granadina goats.
Malic enzyme 1 plays a fundamental role in lipid metabolism because it yields a significant amount of the NADPH necessary for fatty acid biosynthesis. In ruminants, however, its contribution to this biochemical process seems to be less relevant than in other livestock species. In this study, we have partially sequenced the goat ME1 gene with the aim of identifying polymorphic sites. Structural ...
